Why Persistence Pays Off

The definition of Persistence is one’s ability to move forward with their own course of action despite facing difficulty or opposition.

And, from my experience, being persistent is the *only* way to get what you want.

I know it sounds feisty and bold, however, in today’s competitive world, you must persist.

Have you ever experienced this before:

When you KNOW in your heart and soul you are right, however, it feels like no one is listening to you?

It is like the world is telling you to STOP moving forward, but you, deeply, just want to keeping going?

I sure do.

Just last week I faced this with someone I was collaborating with on my book.

I had to stay firm, provide the facts, and be bold in order to move the project forward.

WHEN YOU BELIEVE IN SOMETHING, WHEN YOU KNOW IN YOUR GUT THAT YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT PATH, AND WHEN YOU HAVE EVIDENCE THAT SHOWS YOU ARE CORRECT, YOU MUST PERSIST.

When you are steadfast with your vision and voice, persistence is your key ingredient for achieving success.

IF YOU BELIEVE IN SOMETHING, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO:

1. Speak the truth. Provide evidence and the facts. Be bold.

2. Expect push back. Anticipate having to explain yourself.

3. Use your voice. Be firm and assertive. Stick to the facts.

4. Follow up with the action plan. Always clarify & define next steps.

5. Fail forward. Learn from your mistakes, and keep going.

Everything in life is a learning lesson.

We need to get comfortable with persisting through challenging times and adversities IF we want to achieve our goals.

Of course, there is a time and place to lean out, check out, and take a rest…

But if you want to build your personal brand, stand out in a competitive marketplace, be seen & recognized inside of your workplace, and *feel* accomplished – you need to persist!
